Applying for your Visa


 Visa is required for all the travelers other than Indian Passport Holders to
enter Bhutan. No foreign missions or embassies abroad grant tourists visas. It
has to be processed in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.

 All passport details should be forwarded to us at least one month prior to
date of travel for visa processing. We will need a full color copy of your passport


in order to submit your visa application.
All though we will sent your visa clearance in advance, the actual visa will be
stamped only on arrival in Bhutan for a final fee of 40 USD.
A valid passport is required for all nationals. Your passport
validity should be minimum 6 months to travel to Bhutan.

 Daily Tariff (Tour Fee)



 In order to stay in Bhutan a fee must be paid to the government per person per day.


This fee is included in the daily price of our tour, which is all-inclusive unless otherwise

stated. Please see the following details.




Groups of 3-5 or trekking groups of any size will pay 300 USD/ person/ day

Groups of 6-8 will pay 275 USD/ person/ day

Groups of 9-16 will pay 260 USD/ person/ day

Groups staying 14 days or longer will receive a 10 USD/ person/ day discount


 This price includes:


     
  • All internal taxes and charges (including the royalty)
  • Accommodation
  • All meals and non-alcoholic beverages
  • All travel with a licensed Bhutanese Tour Guide
  • All internal transport
  • Camping equipment and haulage for trekking tours
  • Entrance fees, permits, and special clearances

The rates given above are applicable per tourist per night halt in Bhutan. On
the day of departure, the ‘local agents’ host obligation shall be limited to
breakfast only and any extra requirements shall be payable on actual basis.


The rates shall apply uniformly irrespective of locations and the type of
accommodation provided/asked for. List of hotels and lodges approved for
international tourist accommodation updated from time to time shall be issued by
TCB.


Surcharges:
Individual tourists and smaller groups of less than three persons shall be
subject to surcharge, over and above the minimum daily rates applicable, as
follows:


Single individual US$ 40 per night
Group of 2 persons US$ 30 per person
per night


The 10% agency commission payable to agents abroad shall not be deductible
from the surcharge.


The surcharge will not be applicable to representatives of foreign travel
agents on business study or promotional visit duly approved and cleared by
TCB.


Discounts:

a) With effect from 01/07/2009, the government has revoked the 25% discount
on Diplomatic visas.


b) There shall be no charge for CHILDREN up to the age of 5 years. However,
those between the ages of 6-12 years accompanied by elders/ guardians shall be
given 50% discount on daily rates and 100% discount on Royalty.


c) Full time STUDENTS below the age of 25 years holding valid identity cards
from their academic institutions shall also be given a 25% discount on daily
rates.

 d) 50% discount on Royalty shall be provided after the 8th night and 100%
discount on Royalty shall be provided after the 14th night.


 Cancellations:
Tour programs booked and subsequently cancelled can be refunded but subject to
cancellation charges as follows:
. more than 30 days before commencement of tour program: no charges
 -within 30 days: 50% of Druk Air ticket & 10% of tour cost
. within 21 days:  50% of Druk Air ticket & 25% of tour cost
. within 14 days: 50% of Druk Air ticket & 50% of tour cost
. within 7 days or after arrival: 100% Druk Air ticket & 100% of tour cost

Please Note: If you have purchased your air ticket online you will have to request your
refund for the air ticket directly from the airline. We cannot provide refunds for air tickets
not purchased by Aku Drukpa Tours and cannot provide assistance in receiving refunds from the airlines.
 
Payment:
All tour payments must be settled one month in advance of commencement of
tour to clear the visa and other necessary formalities. The tour booking will be
confirmed only after we receive 100% of the tour payment
(This is the daily tariff adjusted for your group size x number of days on your tour).
